Prof. Yu-Shen Cheng is Professor and Chair of Chemical & Materials Engineering at National Yunlin University of Science and Technology (YunTech), and former Dean of YunTech’s Future College (2022–2025). Prof. Cheng’s research spans biorefinery, industrial biotechnology, applied microbiology, biomaterials, and sustainable process systems, with recent emphasis on insect biorefinery, circular bioeconomy, and biomass-based carbon management.
In addition to academic leadership, Prof. Cheng co-founded three biotechnology/bioproduct ventures and mentored a student team – demonstrating a sustained commitment to translating sustainable technologies from lab to market.
